My research focuses on supporting software developers by understanding what they need and how we can help them to better manage the information and systems they have to deal with. By improving developers' access to the needed information, we can improve the quality of the changes they make and the software quality overall. In particular, I'm interested in finding relevant information about software and software processes in context, personalizing this information and evaluating the influence of such techniques on software quality and developer performance. I am part of the software evolution and architecture lab.
Current and upcoming professional activities include organizing committee member for ICSE 2013, program committee member of WCRE 2011 and student volunteer chair for ICSE 2009 and AOSD 2007.
I am currently teaching a seminar in advanced software engineering on the human aspects in software engineering.
Previously, I finished my PhD under Gail C. Murphy in the Software Practices Lab at the University of British Columbia in 2011. I received my Diplom degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich in 2005 and also worked in the OBASCO research group at the École des Mines de Nantes.
If you are a student interested in doing research in software engineering and in particular in the area I am interested in, let me know. I am happy to talk to you about possible options.
